Finally! It seems we may be seeing a bit of a turnaround here in Schuylkill County just as we end the year. Inventory is tighter in November than in prior years, and the past few months we’ve seen average settled prices up from 2013-2014 levels. They jumped nicely 10% from October 2014 to October 2015 and held pretty steady in October 2016. When we look back at the bigger picture (not just October) we see tightening inventory is finally leading to a little higher sales prices. We’re not out of the market slump completely, but certain school districts and specific neighborhoods are seeing faster sales and higher prices. Others are still down – such as Minersville and Shenandoah specifically. We’re not getting out of the slump there yet. But the stats above are encouraging for anyone who’s been holding on waiting for the market to turn to sell their home.
