Ramus Realty Group Update – April 5, 2020

To our valued RAMUS Realty Group Clients, Friends & Colleagues

As I am sure you are aware, Governor Wolf  issued a mandate ordering the closure of all non-essential businesses in Pennsylvania. Consequently, we temporarily closed our office as of March 18. In addition, the entire state is under a Stay at Home advisory, and the physical showing of a home to prospective buyers or renters is prohibited at this time.

We have transitioned our sales associates to work from home. We remain fully operational as a non-essential business within the stay-at-home guidelines. I wanted to share with you what we know as of now and will send additional communications as more information becomes available.

If you are a seller or buyer of a home that is currently under contract, we are still working to get your property closed. Some title companies are temporarily closed, while others are trying to close what is in the pipeline. The problem we are running into is with the notary process and the courthouse. If a title search was not started already, we are having issues obtaining a proper title search. In some cases we cannot get final water or sewer readings from the municipalities. Deed recordings and other issues are popping up unexpectedly. We are working hard to work through these problems.

If your property is actively listed for sale with RAMUS Realty Group, your home will continue to appear on local, national and international websites. We have many sophisticated tools in place for buyers to view your home virtually without physically touring the property. We do not want to risk your life – or the life of a buyer – by allowing in person showings if your home is occupied. It is too dangerous and violates the Governor’s order. We are able to offer buyers virtual walk throughs if you (the seller) would like to record a walk through yourself and send it to our buyer clients. We are working things out and it’s a fluid situation. For vacant homes, we cannot take a buyer there physically as we are not supposed to be doing any in person showings right now. If that situation changes, we will alert you.

We realize how stressful uncertainty can be and we will continue to update you as new information becomes available. Please know that your agent is available to you and our goal is to be the provider of accurate information during this unprecedented time. With the disruption we are all encountering in our daily lives, one’s home has taken on a new meaning of safety and security.

Thank you in advance for your patience and trust in Ramus Realty Group.

    Sincerely,

    Erica Ramus, MRE – Broker/Owner
