We have good things growing at the Schuylkill County Fair and one of those good things is the Fair web site at www.SchuylkillFair.com. You see the former website was rescued by the skilled and talented web developer Ray Silcox. Ray has been the official fair photographer the past seven
years and came to the rescue of the old website last winter. Ray had obtained access to the domain name and developed the new web site into the powerful award winning site it is today. Did I say award winning? Yes that is the other part of this story that makes it so exciting. It was awarded a second place ribbon as being one of the best fair web sites in the state of Pennsylvania. The Schuylkill County Fair web site was reviewed by a web design firm out of Scranton along with 22 other fair web sites from around the state. 106 fairs in PA were eligible to participate in the contest and Schuylkill County Fair’s web site was awarded second place in the competition held recently at the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs (PSACF). First time out and Ray captures second place.

Within one week of rescuing the domain name, Ray had a temporary web site set up and over the course of three months developed it into the full-featured and mobile friendly site that it is today. Ray also linked the Fair’s Facebook and Twitter accounts to the site and plans on doing more tweaking to the site’s appearance and functionality in order to provide its visitors with a useful and informative portal to Schuylkill County’s agriculture scene.
